What Constitutes an HVAC Emergency?

In towns like Springfield, LA, good heating and air conditioning service is vital to a happy household. It goes beyond simple comfort into questions of actual safety. Extremes in temperature — whether high or low — can constitute a danger to your family members, leading to heat stroke, vulnerability to flu bugs and the like. When your HVAC system goes down, you may need it repaired much more quickly than you expect. And if that breakdown occurs after hours or over the weekend, an emergency repair call may be in order.

We offer emergency repair calls 24/7, so you can rest assured that any problem with your HVAC system can be fixed before it gets out of hand. But it beggars an important question: what constitutes and HVAC emergency? In other words, when should you pay the added expense for an emergency call, and when would it be better just to schedule normal repairs during regular business hours? Only you can answer that question, but here are a few tips to keep in mind.

  • What’s the weather like? Mild temperatures reduce the urgency involved in an HVAC breakdown. If you’re suffering through a cold front or a heat wave, or if humidity levels are affecting your comfort,  then an emergency call may be necessary. If your home is still reasonably comfortable, however, then you can probably wait a day or two for regular meetings.
  • How long do you have to wait? If the breakdown takes place with just a few hours to go until regular hours, you’re probably okay waiting. On the other hand, if it takes place over the weekend, or with similarly long periods of time until office hours start again, then you may need to call for emergency service.

The Pros at A Professional Heating and Air are ready to repair your HVAC system anytime, day or night!
